Upcoming Whispers Performance this Friday, June 3rd

That's right...Oracle Band will be returning to Whispers Restaurant & Nightclub this coming Friday for another night of fun, music, & dancing.

The food is good, the atmosphere is electric, and the party is continuous from 9:00 all the way to 1:00, and of course the house DJ will keep the tunes spinning right up to 1:30am.

Reservations are highly recommended, as the seats generally fill up very fast.  Call 410-768-3900 to make your reservation.

Do you have a celebration coming up?  A birthday, anniversary, bachelorette party, or other special occasion? Whispers is a perfect location for parties like this, as they can group several large tables together to form a quasi-private area for you, yet you remain in the thick of the action.  It's also a great place for small reunions to meet & party together.  Best of all, you don't have any elaborate arrangements to make...and you get ORACLE thrown in at no additional charge!!!

Baltimore Yacht Club - Opening Weekend Festivities with Oracle

Memorial Day Weekend.  It's the unofficial start to Summer.  It's also the official start of the boating season at Baltimore Yacht Club, and this year, as we have for the past 5 years, Oracle has been on hand to provide the music to get the summertime party kicked off right!

These folks really know how to party.  Want proof?  With a packed dance floor at 1:00am, we were asked to continue for another hour.  At 2:10am, as we finished "Proud To Be An American", the dance floor was STILL packed!

The folks at Baltimore Yacht Club are some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet, and have treated the band as one of their own.  When we head to the bar for a soda there are a half dozen folks there offering to buy us a beer.  As we are loading in there is always someone offering to assist, or at the very least hold the door for us. Friendly, caring people who know all the band members by name and greet us at other yachting functions at other clubs throughout the year, as well as attending other Oracle Band performances at our public shows.

We'll be returning again in the fall to close out the season, as well as performing for the Commodore's Ball in October.

Here are the photos...hope you enjoy...

Great Party At Perry's Friday Night

Oracle Band at Perry's Restaurant - May 2011What a great evening!  A full house came out to pack Perry's and dance until the wee hours of the morning with Oracle.

It was a very special evening as we were celebrating Mr. Perry's 70th birthday.  As we've mentioned before, it was Mr. Perry's that really believed in Oracle early on and booked the band back before we had the following that we do today.

We also had several other birthday celebrations going on...including our long time friend Jay.  As a special birthday gift to Jay we are not going to mention exactly WHICH birthday he was celebrating!

We noted in a previous post that Oracle has outgrown the stage at Perry's, so sound engineer Steve was set up out in front doing sound the way sound engineers are SUPPOSED to do it...from a spot out on the house.  Steve was enjoying himself thoroughly as, freed from the confining spaces of the Perry's stage, he was permitted free reign over the club to listen, mix, and of course take PHOTOS!

Oracle's Coming to Baltimore Yacht Club on Sunday

If you are a member, or if you KNOW a member, of Baltimore Yacht Club, you won't want to miss Sunday's performance for the BYC opening weekend!

Wow...these guys KNOW how to party!  From the first note to the last, whether it's Lady GaGa or Lady Antebellum, Abba or ZZ Top (A-Z...get it???), these folks ROCK!

We've been a part of the opening day party for some time now, and each year it gets better and better.  Hey...they guys have their own ISLAND!  Well, it's not an island anymore since they built the causeway to allow automobile access, but it was an island once, and that's pretty cool!

It's a members and guests only weekend, but if you know someone you definitely want to get up there.  Hey...we have Monday off right, so let's get ready to party!

Oracle Returns to Perry's Restaurant

Oracle will be returning to Perry's Restaurant in Odenton on Friday, May 27th.

Oracle Band perfoms at Perry's Restaurant in Odenton Maryland - February 2010Perry's is where Oracle really launched to popularity in Anne Arundel County.  Back in those early days Oracle was a three piece band with a repertoire of about 50 songs.

Fast forward about 11 years and the band has grown to six pieces, a full stage lighting show, and a reportoire of well over 500 song!  As the old cigarette commercial used to say, "you've come a long way baby"!!!

Unfortunately the growth of the band has had some offsetting consequences.  As a five piece band we were barely able to fit on the stage at Perry's.  Now, with the addition of drummer Chris Johnson to the lineup, the stage at Perry's simply cannot accommodate the entire band.

In order to pull off the performance  we're going to be returning to our roots...sort of.  Sound engineer Steve will be moving back out to the front of the room to do sound the way sound guys are SUPPOSED to do sound...out with the crowd where he can hear exactly what things sound like.   This frees up the stage space for Chris to get his drum kit on stage.

We would really like to encourage everyone that remembers those "good ole days" to come out to this performance and join us in looking back, as well as looking forward to the future.  As with anything, positive change is essential for growth and prosperity, and as the band continues to evolve we sincerely hope that all of our Oracle Family will come along for the ride.

There is no cover charge at Perry's, so you can just come on out and walk right in.  Come early & have dinner, or come late & catch the party in full swing.

Perry's is really easy to get to, and is accessible from just about everywhere in central Maryland.  Located right on Route 175 in Odenton Maryland, it is less than 30 minutes from both the Washington and Baltimore Beltways, as well as under 30 minutes from Annapolis.

Hope we see you there!!!

New Years Party Location Confirmed - We're Back To La Fontaine Bleue!!!

That's right...it's official.  Oracle is scheduled to return to La Fontaine Bleue for the 2011-2012 New Years Celebration on Saturday, December 31, 2011!

Last year's event, (or was it THIS year's event...it's so confusing sometimes), was an unqualified success.  Over 700 people came out but there was still PLENTY of room on the dance floor.

Then there was the food.  Wow!  We don't have the details for the menu just yet...hey...the ink is barely dry on the contract.  But, based on last year's seafood buffet feast, it is going to be incredible.

Of course we'll be having an open bar, champagne at midnight, and breakfast at 1:00, so it will be a full package.

This year is great in that New Years Eve falls on a Saturday, so EVERYONE will be able to have plenty of time to get rested up and gussied up to be ready to welcome 2012.

We'll keep everyone up to speed as to when tickets will be available and how much they are going to cost.  We just wanted to make sure that everyone that had such a great time lest year know that we ARE returning.  We'd like to thank the management and staff at La Fontaine Bleue for the wonderful treatment they have accorded us, and for their faith in the band and our fans to make for a fun filled evening.

We'll see you on NYE!!!

Welcome to the New "News & Information" page!

We've been looking for a way to make our site more interesting and interactive.  We think we've hit on a way to do that by making our "News And Information Page" into a blog format to allow folks to see archived reviews of performances, comment on our posts, and give all the individual band members a change to post to the information page.

We'd love to know what you think, once we get things rolling.  For now, this is the first post so we can see what it will look like.  Stay tuned, and send us your feedback!!!
