It took a little while to select the best photos from this great evening and get them all edited and cropped, but here they are for all to enjoy. If you were there, we probably got a shot of you somewhere in here. If you weren't there...WHY NOT???
This was one really great party, and we were so happy to see so many friends out on the dance floor, including a few that we haven't seen for quite some time!
We hope you enjoy the photos. You can also find them in the Whispers Photo Gallery for April 2012 in our photo gallery section, where it's easier to see them all on one page.

Fantastic Night @ American Legion Morrell Park
The room was packed, the dance floor was rockin', and the crabcakes were SUPERB! It all made for a perfect evening as Oracle Band performed at American Legion Post 137 Morrell Park in Baltimore on Friday.
This was our first performance for the folks at Post 137. We had been told it was small. When we got there, reality told us it was actually smaller than "small"!!!
Not that this was to stop us from bringing a kickin' show in for the folks. They were raising funds for the Post, and although somewhat smaller they certainly deserved the best we could bring. The stage was pretty small...ordinarily it would be just large enough for our drummer. We got creative, and with a few chocks of wood, some originality on where to put things, and of course spreading out onto the floor to one side of the stage itself, we made room for everyone.
By the time the last notes of "Proud To Be An American" echoed to a silence that marked the end of the evening, the room was still full of people, and the dance floor was still going strong. Our thanks to the folks with the Legion for inviting us, and we hope that you all invite us back real soon. Remember that it's not the quantity of the crowd, it's the quality, and you won't find better people anywhere than in our veterans!!!
Enjoy the photos. Feel free to comment below. You may also visit our FaceBook Page and comment on specific shots as well as tagging yourselves and your friends.

What a special night!
Oracle returned to Perry's Restaurant in Odenton Maryland on March 25th. It was our first performance there for the year. Perry's was one of the primary places where Oracle established a name for itself, so it was kind of like "old home" week. We have been performing there for over a decade now. Although we don't all fit on the stage anymore, our returns to Perry's are filled with lots of fun and always a few surprises. It was so much fun to see so many familiar faces that have been coming to see us perform there for the past decade.
One of those faces in particular was even MORE special. Jean Guercio has been coming to our performances at Perry's almost since our first one. On this occasion we were celebrating her eightieth birthday, and she was out on that dance floor just having a great time!
Another group of familiar faces also stood out to our trumpet player / sound man Steve. A table of his classmates from Northwestern HS came out to dance and party with us. Back in 2008 Perry's served as the official site of the Class of 1973's 35th reunion.
And then there were our Oracle Family regulars. You guys that come to almost every show and keep us energized on stage.
With Steve set up out in the room as a sound man should, he was having a ball interacting with everyone there. He doesn't get to wander that much normally as it's kind of hard for him to leave the stage. This particular weekend probably set a record for the number of photos taken OF him. He's usually the one TAKING the photos!
We've edited the best of the photos taken Friday night and you can see all of them right here by clicking the <PLAY> button. We also have them posted to our FaceBook Page where you can add you comments and tag yourselves and your friends.

Oracle Returns to Perry's Restaurant this Friday!!!
This coming Friday, March 23rd Oracle will be returning to Perry's Restaurant for our first performance there for 2012.
Perry's Restaurant is near and dear to our hearts as it is one of the first venues that started to book Oracle way back in our infancy. They took a chance with us, and here we are twelve years later packing the place to standing room only.
Of course a lot has changed over those 12 years. Whereas we were a 3 piece band all guitar band back then, today we are a six piece band where we don't even all fit onto the stage. Hey...it doesn't matter, we still look forward to these appearances and enjoy every minute performing. We do a fair amount of reminiscing as well!
The show starts at 9:00 and we play until 1:00 in the morning. Best of all, there is absolutely NO COVER CHARGE!!!
Perry's Restaurant is very easy to get to. Centrally located in the heart of Odenton Maryland, it is only 10 minutes from I-95, very close to Laurel and Fort Meade. Heck, now that the ICC is open, you can be there in 50 minutes even from Montgomery County!
Directions to Perry's Restaurant & Lounge
If you want to sit we'd urge you to get there early, or at least have one person get there early to stake out a table. The food is really good, particularly if you have a liking for Greek fare! They have an entire page of Greek menu items, including Gyros, Souvlaki, some delicious lamb entrees, and of course don't forget the Baklava! Their seafood and steaks are excellent as well.
Want to see what an evening at Perry's is like? Here's a little video clip from October of last year. As you can see the dance floor is rocking and everyone is having a great time. Hope you can come out to make this Friday another memorable experience!!!

Photos from Chocolate Ball 2012 - Kossiakoff Center
The 2012 Chocolate Ball, a benefit to support the Arc of Howard County, was held on Saturday, March 3rd at the Kossiakoff Center on the campus of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.
2012 marked the 7th straight year that Oracle has been invited to perform for this very worthwhile Black-Tie event that typically sells out the moment tickets become available.
From the unbelievable confections to the fabulous food, right down to the $15,000 diamond hidden in one of the door prizes, everything was simply perfect. It takes an enormous amount of effort to put on an event like this and we salute the folks at the Arc for their dedication and hard work. It clearly paid off.
So, without further ado, we present here the photos from the 2012 Chocolate Ball. We hope you enjoy, and we'll be seeing you all again next year!!!
