New Years 2015-2016 Fast Approaching - Get Tickets NOW!!!

That's right...it's hard to believe that another year is almost ready for the history books!  It seems like yesterday we were singing Auld Lang Syne with you all as the balloons fell, the noisemakers whizzed, and everyone got their first kiss of the new year!

Oracle will be returning to La Fontaine Bleue in Glen Burnie Maryland again this year for another evening of great food, great music, and great people.

It's gonna be the biggest New Years Party in all of Anne Arundel, and we certainly hope that YOU are going to be a part of it!!!  Don't wait to read about it, or just look at the pictures and say "I wish I had gone".  Be there!  Be a PART of the party!  You won't regret it!!!

THE FOOD

Check out this all-you-can-eat lineup!!!

  • Maryland Jumbo Lump Crabcakes
  • Large Old Bay Steamed Shrimp
  • Carved Tender Angus Beef

Are you hungry yet?  Wait...there's more!

THE PARTY

Once our feast is over we'll be hitting the stage for four solid hours of dancing as we party our way into 2016 and say farewell to 2015.

As we hit the magic Midnight Hour the champagne will flow as everyone will don their party hats and noisemakers to raise a ruckus that will be heard all the way back in Annapolis!

We'll be playing all your favorite dance music, with a variety that will span multiple decades.  From the Andrews Sisters to Lady GaGa, we'll be bringing it all, as we bring multiple generations together on the dance floor to celebrate together.

But wait...we're not done yet!!!

THE AFTERPARTY

Then, as we hit the 1:00 hour, the folks at La Fontaine Bleue will roll out a Continental Breakfast that will satiate those hunger pangs after an evening of dancing.  Hey...no stops at McDonalds after THIS show!!!  Fritatas made with farm fresh eggs, bacon, fresh-made waffles, coffee, tea, decaf and more!

It gives the band an opportunity to come out to say hi to everyone and socialize for a while.  You folks have supported the band for so many years we sometimes find it tough that we can't come out to spend more time with everyone.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Of course we want everyone to get home safely after a night like this.  There are numerous hotels nearby with door to door shuttle service so you won't have to drive home.  The folks at La Fontaine Bleue will be happy to make recommendations based on your needs, amenities desired, and of course the rates.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

As with last year, the basic rule is "dress to impress".  The band will be decked out in our best formalwear, and we recommend a business casual attire at a minimum.  Ladies, we'd like to see you in your stunning best!

Don't worry...by the end of the evening, (well...it's actually a little sooner than that), the shoes will come off, the ties disappear, and the jackets go to the back of the chairs.

PASS THE WORD!!!

Don't forget to mention and share this to your FaceBook / Twitter friends as well!  The power of the social media is pretty impressive!!!

If you haven't already done so, we would be thrilled if you would head over and "LIKE" our FaceBook Page!

If you have any questions please feel free to let us know, or call La Fontaine Bleue.

We'll see you there!

Just as a parting wave, please enjoy these photos from last year's party!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

It's that time of year.  Thanksgiving is behind us and many of us are in the thick of holiday shopping, visiting relatives, planning trips, and preparing for the thick of the holiday season.  Hanukkah is upon us and we'd like to send our best wishes to all who celebrate that very special time of year.

Of course Christmas is just a little over two weeks away and the kids and grandkids are sending their letters to Santa, hopefully being on their best behavior to avoid being on the naughty list!

Oracle has a couple of upcoming public performances in addition to the schedule of private performances, where we get to share the spirit of the holidays with all our friends and Oracle "family".  It doesn't matter if you made the naughty list or not!!!

We hope that you will have an opportunity to make it out to one of these performances.  Stand by...here are the details!

Sidelines Holiday Party

This coming Friday, December 11th Oracle will be appearing at Sidelines Bar and Grill in Glen Burnie Maryland.  This is a really big place, perfect to bring your office friends, or out of town guests, or just get a big group of friends together to celebrate the season.

The band kicks things off at 8:30 and we play up to 12:30.  We definitely recommend calling in reservations for larger groups well in advance.  While there is a lot of space there we're expecting a pretty big crowd.  Of course a lot of people come to just mingle...there's always someone to dance with.

The dance floor is spacious with lots of room to spill over if it gets too crowded.

The food is quite good and we recommend coming early to grab a bite, then hit the dance floor with us for an evening of great music and fun.

Parkers Restaurant Holiday Party

If you find you can't make it to Sidelines, or if you're on the north side of town and prefer a shorter drive, or if (best of all), you can't get enough of the band and want to hit the dance floor with us AGAIN the following week, we'll be appearing at Parker's Restaurant in White Marsh on Saturday, December 19th.

Although we had originally been told that Parker's was ceasing their live entertainment, we're thrilled to let everyone know they received a reprieve and entertainment will continue unabated!

Parkers is an excellent place to dine as well as enjoy live music...their menu is scrumptious!

While it's not a huge place they still cater to groups, so once again, if you have an office party of just a good group of friends to celebrate with, call 410-335-3663 to make a reservation.  DO NOT DELAY...this show WILL sell out!

Parkers is an early start time.  The band starts at 7:00 and we play up to 11:00.

If the demands of the holidays are such that you CAN'T make it out to one of our performances, we certainly understand.  Regardless of the holiday you may celebrate, or perhaps you may not celebrate any particular day, please accept our best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season, and remember that it is the SPIRIT of the season that counts the most...regardless of faith, heritage, or lineage...we are all part of one great big FAMILY!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

First Club Gig of 2015 at Perry's Restaurant - Photos!

Take your pick.  It was snowing.  It was sleeting.  It was raining.  No matter where you were it was miserably cold and damp.

Well, that is, except for Perry's Restaurant in Odenton Maryland, where Oracle Family members from far and wide converged on this little oasis in Anne Arundel County where the beer is cold, the people are hot, and the dance floor is ROCKING all night!

We can't thank everyone enough for braving the elements and joining us for this, our first club gig of 2015.

Here's an excerpt and video clip from our FaceBook Page:

We'll be returning to Perry's again on February 20th for another great night of music, dancing, partying, and just plain havin' a good time!

Don't miss out!

OK...here we go...photos from the evening.  Would you like to comment?  Head over to the Flickr website, or see them and tag your friends on our FaceBook Page !

Photos from New Years 2014-2015 Performance at La Fontaine Bleue

Wow...this one was perhaps the best New Years ever.  A sold out house was in attendance as we ushered out 2014 and welcomed 2015.

Thanks go out to everyone that spent the evening with us!

Our New Years Resolution for 2015 is to keep this page updated more frequently.  We've been a little remiss in that department and we're going to work hard to see that we keep everyone up to date with all the latest News and Information on Oracle Band.

So, without further ado...here we go...the photos from New Years 2015!!!

Folks come in costumes ranging from extremely simple to fantastically elaborate.  From the sexiest sexy to the most horrific gruesome, to your favorite cartoon characters and superheros, we have them all.

Independence Day 2014 Concert & Fireworks - City of Laurel

On Saturday, July 5th Oracle Band will be performing for the annual City Of Laurel Independence Day festivities at Granville - Gude Park at Laurel Lakes in Laurel Maryland.  The music will start around 5:00 and will go right up to the spectacular fireworks display scheduled to begin around 9:15.

This event is free and open to the general public.  Bring blankets or lawn chairs as there is next to no seating available in the park.

Still 1.5 hours away from the fireworks and the crowd continues to swell!

Last year's temperatures were certainly better than those of 2012, when the thermometer hit 105° right around concert time, but even then we had some hardy souls in attendance.  This year we are once again asking Mother Nature for some compassion after that rather overwhelming day two years ago...but hey...she can be rather fickle when she wants to be, so send up your positive vibes for a dry and relatively comfortable day!

Oh yeah...it DOES get a little toasty on stage!

The concert will be held at the beautiful concert pavilion on the grounds of Granville-Gude park at Laurel Lakes.  It's just off Route 1, near Laurel Mall.  It is very easy to get to.

Directions to Granville-Gude Park

There is something for everyone at the Laurel celebration.

For starters there is of course the parade.  Laurel residents have turned out in the thousands for many years to watch the parade, which begins around 9:00 on Montgomery Ave and ends up at Cherry Lane near what used to be Laurel Mall.

Then there will be a car show starting at 12:00 noon in the field just above the concert pavilion.

At 2:30 the Hot Dog eating contest gets underway...registration is at 2:00 for that event...come one come all!

At 3:00 there will be field events and games for the kids to participate in, followed by the official opening of the ceremonies at the park with the flag raising and the National Anthem.  Prize winners for the parade and the car competition will be announced at this time as well.

There are face painters and moon bounces for the kids. Then of course, there is the FOOD!

You name it.  Burgers, chicken & dogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy, lemonade and smoothies, pulled pork & pit beef, egg rolls, sausages, the list goes on and on.  Want to save some $$$?  Bring your own picnic!

Coolers are permitted but alcohol is prohibited.  Oh, and of course, don't forget your blanket or lawn chairs.

The complete schedule can be found on the City of Laurel Independence Day Website.  You can also ask questions and find more information on their FaceBook Page.

The concert will begin around 5:15 in the afternoon, and we'll be playing right up to the start of the fireworks around 9:15.

You're welcome to come on down to the stage early and say hi, and let us know if there are any songs you'd especially like to hear that might be appropriate for the concert.  Whether it's 75 people or 75,000, we still take requests if we can!

We're expecting an estimated 75,000 - 100,000 people for this event, and when expecting an audience this large you can better believe we'll be PUMPED!

Don't forget to be ready to DANCE.  Oh yes...these folks dance...from the first note to the last.  We get some positively HUGE groups up for Electric Slide and Cupid Shuffle, and you look out into the audience and you'll see folks of all ages dancing literally EVERYWHERE!

Does it get any cuter than this?

We really want to see a lot of familiar faces down front as we kick off the show, so come on down early and get the good parking spots, and lets have a good time together!  Many of our fans like to "camp out" together and enjoy the show together.

Oracle Fans with a shady spot staked out!

You can also view our photos on the band's Facebook page.  We encourage everyone who is a Facebook member to become a fan of of the band and catch all our regular updates there.

Great Party...Oracle Band at Blob's Park - Valentines Day 2014

When's the last time that Valentine's Day fell on a Friday?  Well, it's been at least 7 years, so it's been a while.

We took advantage of this rare occurrence by having a Valentine's Day party at the soon-to-close-forever Blob's Park Bavarian Beer Garden in Jessup Md on Friday, February 14th.

Blob's recently announced that they were about to close their doors forever at the end of March, so this was originally going to be our farewell performance here.  It would seem that Mother Nature and fate had other ideas.

First off, we got anywhere from 12" to 17" of snow just two days before the big show.  Events were being cancelled all over town, flower deliveries were getting put on hold, and it seemed as if the day for lovers would be a victim of Mother Nature's stubbornness in reminding Marylanders what winter was REALLY like.

Well, folks didn't need Mother Nature sticking her nose in, and a positively huge crowd of over 400 people, singles and couples, came out to dance, sing, and party the night away, as the folks at Blob's got the parking lots cleared of snow just in time for opening.  We even had to do a little shoveling ourselves to load in...but we brought our own shovel!!!

Perhaps you've heard the performer's mantra, "the show must go on".  Well, go on it did, snow or no snow, as you can see from the photos.

The best news of all to come from the performance is that we are to be given one final opportunity to perform at Blob's Park before they close their doors.  On Friday, March 28th, the final weekend of existence for Blob's, Oracle will once again take the stage of this historic venue to bring the sounds and songs of the past 70 or so years to this hall that has seen bands performing since 1933.

An evening with this many people wouldn't be complete unless there were some special and magic moments, and this evening was no exception.

The first was having our friend Monique back with us on the dance floor after an absence of a very long time.  Monique has faced more challenges than anyone should ever have to face, and has taken them in stride, always remaining positive that she would eventually return to the dance floor despite the "experts" who didn't think this would ever be possible.  How could one NOT be inspired?

Then there was the wide variety of people we had out on the dance floor, from the young to the young at heart, of every race and a couple dozen nationalities.

We'll have more on this upcoming Blob's Park performance coming in a subsequent post.  For now, we hope you'll enjoy the photos from this very special evening.
